Marine Energy Challenge: Future Marine Energy – The Carbon Trust
The results of the Marine Energy Challenge (MEC) are presented in this report. The MEC technology-acceleration project has been an important part of the Carbon Trust's activities in marine energy. It has actively assisted technology developers, focusing on significant areas of cost reduction and performance improvement that are key to devices' commercial prospects. Key topics that affect future development of the marine energy industry were also studied during the MEC, and the project culminated with an assessment of the sector's future cost-competitiveness and growth.

Marine Energy Glossary – The Carbon Trust
There are many terms in common usage in the marine energy industry, and even for people familiar with related engineering areas, the meanings of these are not always obvious. Therefore the Carbon Trust, in partnership with Entec UK Ltd, published this glossary to help standardise the technical language of marine renewables, and thereby allow new entrants to the sector to come up to speed quickly and converse with existing players more readily than they would otherwise have been able to.

Oscillating Water Column (OWC) Wave Energy Converter Report – The Carbon Trust
This report describes the current state-of-the-art in shoreline/nearshore OWC device design and the amount of electricity that could be produced from such devices in the UK. The report also considers the scope for improvement in shoreline/nearshore OWC designs, identify potential reductions in the devices' cost of energy and recommend future research and development work.

Path to Power: Delivering confidence in Britain’s wave and tidal stream industry – BWEA
This project will examine the technical resource, environmental and regulatory constraints, grid capacity and financing requirements for the marine renewables sector. The findings will help to take this new industry from prototype deployment to commercial reality. The four stages of work that make up the project were produced by Bond Pearce, ABP Marine Environmental Research Let, Econnect Ltd and Climate Change Capital.
