Bianca Forte – Biofuels Co-ordinator
Bianca Forte joined Renewables East in April 2009 to establish a virtual Advanced Biofuels Hub aimed at fostering collaboration between academia and industry. Biofuels East offers intelligence on industry trends and capabilities in advanced biofuels in the region and pro-actively creates opportunities for partnership between members.
Prior to joining Renewables East, Bianca worked as the Bioscientist of the Centre for Sustainable Engineering, a not-for-profit company which accelerates the development and commercialisation of sustainable technologies. Bianca provided technology and market assessments on advanced biofuels to potential investors, developers and public bodies. She was also responsible for articulating R&D projects with regional, national and international groups.
Bianca was born in Brazil. She graduated from the 'Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul' with a Degree in Biological Sciences in 2003. During her under graduation she was involved in technology development at the Genetics Department of the university and at the Centre of Biotechnology of ‘Rio Grande do Sul’. In 2004 Bianca moved to the UK and in 2006 she completed an MSc in Environmental Management for Business at Cranfield University.
