SSE Offshore Wind as part of the Renewable Generation division is preparing to take over 3 offshore windfarms while building a team to operate and manage a number of gigawatts which will transfer to the Generation team in the coming years. The 500MW Greater Gabbard project will begin to generate electricity in Q4 of 2009. When built this will be the largest offshore windfarm in the world and will be the focus of the teams efforts in the year to come. To support its growing Operation and Maintenance agenda, SSE Offshore Wind seeks to appoint an Offshore Operations and Maintenance Manager covering all aspects of offshore windfarm operations.

An innovative individual is required to take up the post as Project Manager for the Answer Project. European funding has been secured to fund a project called "ANSWER - A North Sea Way to Energy-Efficient Regions". This is an exciting new project bringing together some of the European leaders in building a low carbon, energy efficient, sustainable future for our regions. The project will be launched in Sept 08 and will run for 3 years until 2011; the post is on a 3 year basis for this period. The Answer Project will establish the project partner regions as low-carbon leaders in the fields of commuity and business. The project will bring together partners in the UK, Belgium, Norway, Germany and Denmark.



You will: lead & manage the overall development of the project on behalf of all project partners, co-ordinate with partners on the implementation of Work Packages for Communities, Business & Communication, maximise the benefits of the project for all partners, manage & co-ordinate the overall project budget, disseminate project information regionally, nationally and internationally, implement & co-ordinate Suffolk activities as part of the project.



You will need to have: a degree qualification in sustainable development/energy efficiency or suitable equivalent experience, experience of Trans-national working and European funding & excellent project management skills.
