Jim Skea
Before setting up UKERC in October 2004, Jim Skea spent six years as Director of the Policy Studies Institute. Among other achievements during this time, Jim was instrumental in launching the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP), an action and advisory group bringing together industry, academia, NGOs and Government departments.
He was previously Director of the Economic and Social Research Council's Global Environmental Change Programme and a Professorial Fellow at the Science and Technology Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex.
Jim is the Roy Society's nominee on the International Council of Scientific Union's International Science Panel on Renewable Energies, is part of the Government Commission on Environmental Markets and Economic Performance, and also chairs the Scottish Power Green Energy Trust.
Jim was awarded his OBE in 2004.
